Watchet Urban Design Exhibition
Author: Richard Eastham
Date: Jun 28, 2024
Road Closed, Diversion! At the end of June, Richard spent three days in Watchet Somerset, collaborating with local people to help co-create an urban design strategy. Coastal erosion has led to the closure of the B3191 from the west, affecting historic access and movement patterns across the town centre. Richard organised and ran an exhibition and workshop, at which ideas for change were explored and evaluated. In this image, Richard is explaining to the workshop participants some of the design issues that the strategy needs to address and how the opinions of local people can help shape and influence the emerging ideas. His talk was recorded, and you can see the full film here with captions.
