Our East Suffolk place shaping project is gathering real momentum. Appointed late last year by East Suffolk Council, as part of a team led by David Lock Associates with Feria Urbanism and KMC, we have spent the opening months of the year agreeing the programme and planning event logistics. The pace has picked up considerably since.
I recently had the privilege of working with 155 young people across several schools and a youth group, listening to what they think makes a good town, village, street and building. The team has also run investigative workshops for developers and built environment professionals, held as part of the launch of the Suffolk Design Collective at the University of Suffolk. Next month I will be leading walking tours in Woodbridge, Framlingham and Leiston, inviting local people to share what works and what could be better. The evidence is building beautifully, and there is much more to come.
