New Forest Waterside

A new project is now underway with Feria Urbanism exploring the identity, character, and personality of the waterside communities along the New Forest coastline. The work will involve video, photography, and map-making to capture the distinct qualities of these places. The first visit took place on a wonderfully sunny Friday afternoon and evening last week, providing an inspiring start to the project.

I will return on Thursday 15 May to spend more time in Totton, Marchwood, Hythe, Dibden, Holbury, Fawley, and Calshot. Each of these communities has its own story to tell, and the aim is to reflect their individuality while also understanding the shared qualities that connect them along the Waterside. I am keen to hear from those who live or work in the area about what makes these towns and landscapes special, as local perspectives will be central to shaping the project’s outcomes.
