Author: Richard Eastham
Date: May 3, 2023
Richard was invited to speak at the National Planning Summit 2023. He was on a panel that discussed how to best involve communities in the planning process, sitting alongside Miranda MacLaren (Morris + Company), Matthew Morgan (Quality of Life Foundation), and Dr. Ruchit Purohit (University of Cambridge). The panel moderator was Steve Quartermain. You can see photos and watch video of the panel session on our Instagram page.
If planners, place-makers, and developers want to make better, more well-informed decisions about places, they need to understand local residents’ lived experiences. The panel discussed new approaches to citizen engagement that are making the process more accessible, inclusive, and representative.
