Paddock Wood Neighbourhood Plan
Client: | Paddock Wood Town Council |
Location: | Paddock Wood, Kent |
Year: | 2015 |
Feria Urbanism was appointed by Paddock Wood Town Council to assist them in the preparation of a neighbourhood plan.
Paddock Wood is a small town and parish in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. It lies about 13 kms southwest of Maidstone and is the centre for hop growing in Kent. Our task was to draw together the many different interest groups in parish to allow them to share ideas and develop a consensus around ideas for the future.
In April 2016, we ran a successful design forum event when we explored in some detail the regeneration of derelict land in the town centre and the way in which a new community hall could provide a renewed focus for activity in the southern part of the town. Our team prepared a baseline report that helped inform the subsequent pre-submission plan.
Following a successful examination process, the Paddock Wood plan received a 76% yes vote at referendum.
