Paddock Wood Town Council appointed Feria Urbanism to support the preparation of a neighbourhood plan for the parish.
A small town in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, it lies around 13 kilometres southwest of Maidstone and is the centre of Kent’s hop-growing industry. Our role was to bring together the town’s many interest groups to share ideas and build a shared vision for the future.
In April 2016, we ran a successful design forum event when we explored in some detail the regeneration of derelict land in the town centre and the way in which a new community hall could provide a renewed focus for activity in the southern part of the town. Our team prepared a baseline report that helped inform the subsequent pre-submission plan.
Following a successful examination process, the Paddock Wood plan received a 76% yes vote at referendum.
