Collaborating with Conran & Partners, artist Fiona Heron, Milestone Transport, Contemporary Transport, Equation Lighting, we submitted an entry for this RIBA international design competition to reinvent and reimagine Maidstone High Street. Our team was one of just five shortlisted for final selection from 76 entries from Europe, the USA and Japan. Our ideas included blocking up the unpleasant pedestrian subways and providing new at grade crossings, creating new spaces for outdoor markets, and delivering a new information centre with panoramic views over the River Medway.
