Emsworth Neighbourhood Plan

Neighbourhoods & Districts

The Emsworth Neighbourhood Forum appointed Feria Urbanism to support the preparation of its neighbourhood plan.

Emsworth is a small town in Hampshire on the south coast, near the border of West Sussex. It lies at the north end of an arm of Chichester Harbour, a large and shallow inlet from the English Channel. Emsworth has a population of approximately 10,000. The town has a basin for small yachts and fishing boats, which fills at high tide and can be emptied through a sluice at low tide.

Our role has been to rework the extensive amount of material already prepared by the community into a neighbourhood plan of an appropriate format and with the right content. Our team has also prepared maps, diagrams, and other visual materials that has been integrated into the plan. The plan was subject to its pre-submission consultation in late 2017 and was submitted to Havant Borough Council in early 2019. It passed examination in early 2020 and the referendum is scheduled for July 2020.

The final plan was approved at referendum in July 2021 with a 91% yes vote on a turnout of 23%.
