East Hoathly with Halland Neighbourhood Plan

Client: East Hoathly with Halland Parish Council
Location: East Hoathly with Halland, East Sussex
Year: 2018

Feria Urbanism supported East Hoathly with Halland Parish Council, a civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, as it began to prepare its neighbourhood plan.

The settlements are within 10 miles of the county town of Lewes and are steeped in heritage, with East Hoathly being the former home of diarist Thomas Turner and Halland the home of two former prime ministers. East Hoathly Bonfire Society puts on spectacular shows for 5 November and the parish is renowned for several unique archaeological and ecological habitats. The villages each have their particular issues and opportunities, while working together as one parish.

Our work involved the preparation of a village character assessment plan, the organising and running of two Visioning Events in January 2018 and a two-day design forum held in March 2018. These events have allowed a variety of different community groups to have their say on a range of planning and design issues.
