Feria Urbanism worked with children and young people on a series of practical urban design projects. One of these was a history project examining the origins of Bournemouth and exploring possible futures.
This six-week urban planning programme was run for pupils of St Peters School, Bournemouth, forming part of their GCSE geography course. We used the Cooper Dean archive held at the Dorset History Centre to reveal the origins of their town before exploring over a century of placemaking and examining how the town could be developed in future. Final designs and ideas were presented to a panel of experts.
