Feria Urbanism was part of the multi-agency team that was appointed to prepare a new city vision for Winchester. This will guide the development of the city over the next decade.
We worked alongside Southampton-based urban design and architecture practice Boyle + Summers, and two dynamic creative agencies Momo:zo and Støriie. Our combination of skills, experience and enthusiasm won the job following an open competitive tender process.
The first stage was primarily a listening project. We used a range of techniques to record the voices of the city, to uncover hidden histories and unusual truths. These stories became a platform for further exploration of themes and threads about the city’s past and future, from which the future vision will be woven.
Our team established a digital footprint for the project, all using the title of “One Great Win” – a dedicated website with interactive content and a range of social media channels in support. This project was commissioned just before the start of the Covid-19 crisis and this comprehensive online presence was critical to the project’s forward momentum in the absence of face-to-face meetings and social gatherings.
