Feria Urbanism was appointed by Harrietsham Parish Council to assist them in the preparation of a neighbourhood plan.
Harrietsham is a rural and industrial village and civil parish in the Maidstone District of Kent. Our task was to draw together the many different interest groups in parish to allow them to share ideas and develop a consensus around ideas for the future.
In June 2012, we ran our first successful three day design forum event when we explored in some detail options for housing growth, ways to reconnect the village across busy roads and how to protect and enhance existing services and facilities. This work led to the production of the pre-submission version of the neighbourhood plan.
