Feria Urbanism was appointed by Brenchley Parish Council to help prepare a neighbourhood plan.
The villages of Brenchley, Matfield and Petteridge are in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The main settlements of Brenchley and Matfield are home to many listed buildings and sit within a rolling green landscape. Matfield village green is the largest in Kent, which is overlooked by Grade I listed Matfield House. Renowned poet Siegfried Sassoon was born in the village, while Brenchley famously features an avenue of historic yew trees leading up to its All Saints Church.
Our work has involved site visits, the organising and running of two Visioning Events in February 2018, and a Three-Day Design Forum held in March 2018. These events have allowed a variety of different community groups to have their say on a range of planning and design issues and has resulted in a series of spatial strategy options for the wider parish moving forwards.
