Feria Urbanism was appointed by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to prepare an urban design framework for the town and its surroundings.
The essential purpose of the project is to carry out a contextual survey and analysis of Basingstoke town, and provide design guidance to underpin the Local Plan update. The study will be important in informing the assessment of the sites under consideration for housing and employment land allocation, to be included within the Local Plan update.
We also assessed existing design policies and advised on a review and refresh of these policies to support the potential for higher density development across the town, both in the potential new expansion areas and a possible intensification of existing areas.
